Special Instructions

  • FROZEN -1 mL Serum from Red-top tube or plasma from lavender-top (EDTA) tube. Do not use SST tube for serum

Additional Information

  • Transfer the Serum from a Red Top or Plasma from a EDTA lavender top tube into a plastic transport tube. The specimen should be frozen immediately and maintained frozen until tested. To avoid delays in turnaround time when requesting multiple tests on frozen specimens, please submit separate frozen specimen for each test requested. Include the patient's age on the test request form and indicate if serum or plasma. Do not use SST (gel-barrier) for serum collection
